What is a Moot Court?
In a Moot Court participants take part in simulated court or arbitration proceedings, including participating in oral argument and drafting of any required legal documents. This serves as an opportunity for participants to hone their public speaking and debating skills, whilst also putting what is learnt within their studies into practice!
What to Expect?
The Junior Chamber of Advocates holds two Moot Courts annually. The first one is held around November, and although it is usually a Family Law Moot Court, this year JCA plans on shaking things up! The second Moot Court of the year is held during the month of March, which would be a Trial by Jury.

Students are encouraged to participate as lawyers in the Moot Court, however, JCA also offers an opportunity for students to involve themselves in the workings of the Moot Court by forming part of the Sub-Committee. During the March Trial by Jury students may also participate as a juror and decide the accused’s verdict!
